Hot sour salty

Does our food culture have this taste combination? It’s in several Asian cuisines – like South Indian and Korean pickles, which are quite different, but both of which I find delicious. I love this flavor combination – it’s a wonderful whole-mouth experience. I discovered a simple quick Korean-style pickle dressing in one of our cookbooks – a tablespoon of lemon juice, a drop or two of sesame oil, lots of salt (a teaspoon, maybe?), and cayenne to taste. I mix that up with chopped cucumber and eat it, then dip spinach leaves in the leftover dressing. Yum.
Anyway, I keep puzzling over whether this combination of flavors exists in our Euro-influenced New-World American food environment. I can think of lots of things that have two of these flavors, but nothing that has all three. Anyone else?
